Lenovo introed new notebooks at , our favorite being the U110, (named for its 11” widescreen), which is as sexy as it is compact. First we loved the gorgeous and eye-catching red, textured casing. Open it up and you’ll type on the glossiest keyboard ever, as pretty as it is comfortable. But the U110 is not just a fashion statement, it’s a solidly-built machine, with a 64 GB solid-state drive (SSD), which there are no moving parts whatsoever. Also includes a 1.3 MP webcam. Available in April for $1800 USD.

We visited and learned about their new Ultra Mobile Personal Computers (). They’re basically palm-sized computers with the power of a laptop. Their line starts with the Q1 Ultra, which runs Windows XP or Vista has a standard 80GB hard drive, a battery life of 4 ½ hours with WiFi enabled, includes a webcam, 2 USB ports and an SD Card slot, weighing only 1.5 pounds at a price of $1300 USD. There’s also the Q1 Ultra SSD, with a 32 GB solid-state drive for increased boot time and access to data. Finally, there’s the just-launched, award-winning Q1 Ultra Premium, with a powerful Intel Pentium Mobile Processor, 80GB hard drive, and a battery life up to 7.5 hours with WiFi enabled. Available at the end of the month for $1500.

Continuing on with the content we were able to catch at the Your Life is the Show event, we chat with Ted Clark, Senior Vice President & General Manager of the Notebook Global Business Unit. Ted’s the man when it comes to HP’s portable computers, and we were glad to get a few minutes of his time to go over a couple of the company’s new business laptops. In this episode, we focus on the HP Compaq 6820s, along with the amazingly mobile HP Compaq 2710p, which features a 32 GB SSD flash hard drive. We’ve gotten a lot of interested readers letting us know they were excited about finally seeing SSD flash drives hit tablet notebooks since Stcy Wolff first showed it to us at Gnomedex.
