While not the fuel cell battery replacement for gadgets we keep hearing about Horizon is promising some very cool technology nonetheless: portable, enviromentally friendly power on demand - just add water! Their portable generator technology is aimed at disaster relief, outdoor, and developing countries. The totally recyclable cartridges have an infinate shelf life until activated, and can be activated by adding plain old water - no filtration neccesary. CES 2008 Video: EcoNEW pays you to recycle used gadgets

EcoNEW is a recycling and trade-in program for used electronics and computers. At CES, they gave us the details on how their hardware recycling program works. Just head on over to the EcoNEW website, and enter info about the product you want recycled, for which you will be given a trade-in value. Then, just print the pre-paid shipping label and send the item to NEW. Later, you will receive a gift card of the trade-in value, to be used at a participating retailer. The disposed device will be safely recycled, or refurbished for future use. It doesn’t get much easier than that.

Back in the summer, Jesse Ferguson, Andru Edwards, Nate True, Bre Pettis, and Jake Ludington got together to construct and film a Rube Goldberg machine that would be made completely out of items found in nature at Earth Sanctuary. After many try and try agains, everything finally came together, and we were able to capture this amazing piece of footage.
