We review the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M in this episode of Bleeding Edge TV. The ScanSnap S1500M allows you to digitally scan your documents, receipts, business cards, and photos so that you can save them all to a searchable archive on your computer. It also includes the ability to upload and store your documents in a cloud storage service like Evernote and Google Docs with just the press of a button.
In this video I challenge myself to clear off my desk in just one day. My desk has thousands of pages of documents, pictures, and a bunch of business cards that have been cluttering things up. If you want to me if I succeed or fail, hit the play button above - and if you want in on the action, check out the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M on Amazon.

Bleeding Edge TV 362: Playing Catan on Microsoft Surface
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gizmatic, High Score, Features, Microsoft, Peripherals, Podcasts, Video Games, Videocasts, Videos
We’ve been fans of Catan since we first played it, interestingly enough, on the Xbox 360 as an Xbox Live Arcade download. Since then, we’ve enjoyed many hours of the strategic masterpiece both online and in social settings. Recently, we paid a visit to Seattle’s Vectorform, a developer for the Microsoft Surface platform. They gave us a look at their take on Settlers of Catan using the Surface tabletop, and even included a few very cool and interesting real-world peripherals. We quickly realized how interesting Surface can make tabletop gaming. Check out the video above to see what me mean.

HP just unleashed a couple of new notebooks earlier today, including their new 16- and 18-inch HDX units, just in time for the holiday season. We were able to spend some time with HP’s Kevin Wentzel to get a look at the entire consumer notebook lineup for this holiday season. It features the aforementioned HDX, a new HP Imprint finish for the dv5 and dv7 Pavilions, and their tablet as well. These things are affordable, and some are even powerful enough to replace your desktop at this point. In fact, we also have a look at HP’s notebook docking station as well, which fits right in with that line of thinking.
Hit the video for the full scoop on everything, and try not to droll over those hot-looking HDXs, mkay?

Bleeding Edge TV 279: The Wait for iPhone 3G
Posted by Nate True Categories: Full Episodes, Apple, Cell Phones, Handhelds, Peripherals, Portable Audio / Video, Videocasts, Videos
We were quite nearly first in line at the Alderwood Mall Apple Store in Lynnwood, WA for the launch of iPhone 3G. Sure the purchasing experience was a fiasco, but overall the night was great fun. We had an exclusive Tap Tap Revenge tournament, along with a giveaway of the excellent Monster LRG iPhone cases, and even an impromptu listening demo of the Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, which we recently unboxed.
We must admit, towards the end we were kind of jaded over the whole thing, since between everyone in our group we had a 15 iPhone mixture of original iPhones and iPhone 3G units, all of which didn’t work due to the activation issues - but to be fair, the employees at the Alderwood Mall Apple Store location were all top-notch. Check out the full adventure in the video.

Look for it by the end of 2008. Pricing is likely to be on par with the other Volar series, which is around $100.

Bleeding Edge TV 275: The EeeStick motion game controllers from Asus

At the Asus booth during Computex 2008, we had the pleasure of looking at their new EeeStick video gaming controllers. Similar to the Nintendo Wii‘s Wii Remote and Nunchuk, aiming and player movement is controlled by swinging the right controller around and moving the left thumbstick.
Sunrise Kuo of Asus showed us a demo of the controllers in action. When they’re ready in July or August, they will be packaged with the Asus EeePC 901 or EeePC 1000 models.

Bleeding Edge TV 274: A Look Into the Future with HP’s Phil McKinney
Posted by Nate True Categories: Full Episodes, Features, Handhelds, Household, Internet, Misc. Tech, PC / Laptop, Peripherals, Science, Software, Videocasts, Videos
At HP’s Connecting Your World 2008 event in Berlin, Germany, we caught up with the CTO of HP’s Public Systems Group, Phil McKinney, who had some very interesting things to say about where HP believes the future will take us.
Phil talked with us about what’s coming in the future of technology - everything from wearable computing to a very advanced “avatar” that is programmed to make decisions just like you would, only you can send it to a meeting while you get to go play video games. We look forward to seeing what the future holds. Thanks Phil!

CES 2008 Video: Belkin’s new KVM, Rockstar, and more
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Full Episodes, Gizmatic, Accessories, Apple, CES, CES 2008, Features, Home Entertainment, Household, Misc. Tech, Music, Peripherals, Podcasts, Portable Audio / Video, Videocasts
At Pepcom’s Digital Experience, we had a chance to interview Belkin and get an up close and personal look at all the new peripherals they introduced at CES this year. Take a look at the video to see their 4-way, USB- and audio-enabled KVM switch, available this summer for $169. Additionally, they demoed an intelligent surge protector with six individually controlled outlets and two always-on outlets. Add to this a wireless on/off switch to activate or kill the six outlets and you have a nifty device to help kill the phantom power drain that’s so prevalent in today’s chargers and adapters when they’re not in use.
We also check out a few cool iPhone and iPod peripherals and the Rockstar—a five way minijack (headphone) splitter, available for $39.95 this summer.
And finally, we take a quick look at the N52te gamer “WASD replacement” pad. With a bunch of programmable macro options, an integrated scroll wheel and just enough buttons to get things done in TF2, it’s going on sale this month for $69.99 with a first look in the video.
